Die Behörden haben das Hotel Grand Oasis Punta Cana wegen wiederholter Umweltverschmutzung vorrübergehend geschlossen.
Außerdem muß das Hotel eine Strafe von über 11 Millionen Peso bezahlen.
Wiedereröffnet wird es wohl erst wieder, wenn ein funktionierendes Abwassersystem instaliert wurde.
Oha, was passiert mit den Gästen, die dieses Hotel gebucht haben???
Die werden dann wahrscheinlich in andere Hotesl gebracht, was dem Hotel dann noch mehr an Schaden bringen wird.
Leid tut es mir um die ganzen Angestellten, die jetzt entweder Zwangsurlaub nehmen müssen oder ganz gekündigt werde.
Dann kann es unter Umständen passieren, dass die Hotels in der Nachbarschaft überbucht sind oder???
Wo liegt denn genau dieses Hotel, ich meine, welche Hotels sind in unmittelbarer Nachbarschaft???
Das Hotel liegt in Cabeza de Toro, direkt neben dem Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana (denke auch, dass die sich evtl auch beschwert haben), unweit von dem Natura Park ... und ein paar Minuten weiter weg ist dann noch das Catalonia.

Das Hotel ist noch nicht geschlossen, sie haben eine Frist von 2 Wochen bekommen, da muss dann die Strafe bezahlt und das Problem geloest sein oder das Hotel wird von staartlicher Seite geschlossen. Doch vorerst ist es offen.
Also soweit ich ergoogeln konnte, ist diese Frist vorbei.

i did not read all posts on the topic, so i give just my from my side knowleadgable opinion, and that's of course just mine and the gov may have an other one tomorrow.
the hotel is bringing the lil town of Cabeza de Toro, where i live myself on the beach, i bad smell since a while, b/c they did not their "i don't know the english name for it, but they did not prepare the system which cleans the stuff you thow in your toilett the way it should be by law", and the smell is all over.
at my home i don't smell it for just one reason, b/c i live closer to the beach/wind direction than the rest of the town.
it is disgusting since a long while and i wondered that authorities did not take actions a long while ago, but visitors and their countries like we all know are always very sensible when it comes to dominican laws on one side and bothering foreign behaviors on the other, the 'belly up' from the canadian conquest is a good example to that, where somebody else went against OUR laws and many try to blame our gubmin for their fault.
but the hotel is not shut down,
the fact is that they got advised a long while ago to bring that stuff in order, they did not do a thjing, so today they received a fine of 11.8 millions pesos for not doing so and they also got informed about a short from today deadline til when they have to pay the fine and to comply to the laws, otherwise the hotel really would be shut down, and the authorities have in my eyes absolutely all rights to do so, should have done it evene prior to today.
thanks to god and dominican law it is not allowed to run any hotel or such on the dominican east coast without the proper facilities to clean up the "stuff from the toilet" before they get rid of such aside our streets/in the ocean or where ever.
and i heartfully run with the authorities to enforce such laws independent of good or bad promotions in case of turism, or at the end we are just an cloake like the whole mediterranean and many other parts of our known vacation world are.

Umweltministerium schließt Ekelhotel in Punta Cana

Hotelgäste hatten sich schon länger beschwert: Übelriechende, mit Fäkalien durchsetzte Abwasser blubberten offen aus der Strandseite des 5-Sterne-Hotels "Grand Oasis Punta Cana" in Cabeza de Toro und nahmen ihren Weg direkt in ein angrenzende Lagune. Endlich reagierte jetzt auch das Umweltministerium "Medio Ambiente" und ordnete die sofortige Schließung des Hotels an. Die Hotelleitung führt die Ursache auf eine unzureichende Filterkapazität der Kläranlage des 457-Zimmer-Komplexes zurück, unternahm aber nichts. Die Behörden verhängten eine Geldstrafe über 11.821.425 Pesos und machten die Wiedereröffnung von der Beseitung der "Umweltverschmutzung" abhängig.
Ups! Scheint als wäre etwas schief gelaufen!
