4. What type of aircraft does AirAsia fly?
At AirAsia we currently operate two types of aircrafts, the Boeing 737-300 and the Airbus 320.
The Boeing 737-300 is widely used all over the world and is highly reliable. It is renowned for its high rate of dispatch reliability which is an essential factor in ensuring the satisfaction of our guests.
The Airbus 320 is designed for reliability, as well as easy and cost-effective maintenance based on standards approved by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Transport Canada. The Airbus 320’s improved fuel efficiency, extra capacity, and innovations means better performance and reliability.
We currently have 33 Boeing 737-300 (as of 25 Dec 2005, Malaysia 21, Thailand 8, Indonesia 4) in our fleet. Our first Airbus 320 has arrived and at least 60 more Airbus A320 will be operating by the year 2011, replacing our current Boeing 737-300.
